Hello,

Was downloading all the docs and noticed there is a hal manual in French but there isn’t an English option. Are there plans for an English version as well?

The English (original) version of the HAL manual is included in the "Developer manual". You will find the HAL section (manual) at chapter 14, under section 4 "configuration". The french manual is simply a translation of the chapter 14, renamed as a 'manual'.

Actually there were several different English manuals and the French manuals were a translation of them. Then I combined them all into one document but the French was never combined.
