Funny message when reply to a topic

Had these message come up, sorry no screen shot, in the forum. I replaced actual emails with xxxNoticeSMTP Error: The following recipients failed: This email address is being protected from spambots. It looked like forum admin emails, hence the reason I xxx them out.

I sent Andy & Rod an email with a screenshot, hoping that they may be able to forward it on to someone that knows about the forum.
It happened before all the "crack spam" was removed and was concerned that something "bad" may have happened.

I think it was transient and due to  the forum sending too many emails for the quota on whatever email platform is used by the forum.
I did recognise Tommy and Snowgoer from the screen dump you sent me, Both are pretty prolific posters.
I rarely subscribe to threads.

It was related to the number of recipients per message, not total emails per day.
ie: no more than 5 recipients per message.

I was more concerned with why I was seeing it, since I'm just a pleb
