Intermittent issues with EMC2

I am retrofitting a 3 axis mill. So far things are working OK.

When starting EMC2, I get a realtime error. I can clear the error and everything will still work, but it is annoying.

I also get intermittent errors while homing. The error say that the switch was active before the start of axis backing off. I get this error only on X and Z axis even though all axes all share a home input. I get the error about every 10th time I home.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hello,

You might want to rerun the latency test. You may need to use a more conservative number. It is my understanding that the error code will only appear one time per session, but that does not mean it is happening only one time.

Of course you are correct! I just didn't want to believe it.

I switched the steppers to half stepping (from 10 micro-step), and increased the base period. The machine is now faster as well (but of course the trade off is positional accuracy).

Everything works perfectly now.
