merry christmas.

ok, on the "print screen shot"....didn't have a printer hooked up so tried my hp deskjet 1000 J110. system identified it and knew it was on usb. would not print. got hplip-3.13.11.run download from ubuntu site. will try this to see if it will make the printer work.

on the error message.......when running linuxcnc i tried to run the script before homing the axes. it gave an error message in the lower right with a red x to close it but it wouldn't close. however i homed the axes and the script ran just fine.
the last time i got an error, when i closed the program then tried to open it again i got this:

Hi,
The error message that you had regards not being able to run code when not homed, is normal and obvious when you think about it.

You can clear all such error messages with Ctrl Space

The other error was because it could not open the parport. I suspect it shut down without unloading properly and when you restarted errored.
That it then ran OK after reboot tends to prove it, so nothing to worry about.

regards
