I'm a real nube (2 days now) and new to Linux at that. When I run LinuxCNC it asks me to choose a type, as I want the XHC hand wheel layout 2 I select it. This creates a machine with that functionality but no .ini for me to edit. If i run Stepconfig I get all I want but none of the XHC components. What am I missing or where (which) documentation is this most basic start described. Most seems to assume you have gotten farther than I have.
Thanx all.

Hi,

I think you are opening a simulator that demos the pendant from the pickconfig chooser, it is not a real config.

You need to create a config with stepconf which matches your machine and get that working, then look at adding in the pendant

The sample configs are here
git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=linuxcnc.git;a...2356f7a27fb4;hb=HEAD

and there is a huge long thread about the driver for the pendant here
www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/forum...-module?limitstart=0

regards
