Spindle Wrong Direction was created by fc60
Greetings,

My machine has several things that need fixing and I plan to address them one at a time.

First, MDI command S1000M03 starts the spindle running anti-clockwise, as if M04. The LED on the BOB indicates the spindle is running in reverse, which it is.

By the way, MDI command S1000M04 starts the spindle running clockwise and the LED on the BOB says FWD.

So, is it a quick fix to edit a line in the HAL?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi

I would suggest that this is probably down to your wiring and can be fixed by reversing whatever logic you have.

Normally M3 would be the default on the NC side of the contactor or relay and M4 is the result of applying power and reversing this.

Look for motion.spindle-forward and motion.spindle-reverse and change the pins they are connected to. Or if you created the config with one of the wizards go back and use that to reverse the pins.

Greetings All,

I did some typing and the spindle starts with M03 and M04 correctly.

Below is what I did...

original text...

net spindle-rev motion.spindle-reverse
net spindle-fwd parport.0.pin-14-out motion.spindle-forward

new text that works...

net spindle-fwd motion.spindle-forward
net spindle-rev parport.0.pin-14-out motion.spindle-reverse

Truthfully, I have no idea what I did; but, it works.

While I was watching the LED's on the BOB, I noticed a wire that was not connected to anything. Further investigation reveals it has to do with the MOTION SAFE/RUN switch that does not work. The journey continues.

Thanks to all that replied.

Cheers,

Dave
