1979 Hitachi Seiki 3ne-300 lathe Fanuc 5t was created by AlanE
To start, I just found LinuxCNC today. I have a 1979 Hitachi Seiki 3ne-300 lathe with a Fanuc 5t control on it, I would like to run linux cnc on it. Not real sure where to start but I will be keeping everyone updated on my progress. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

X servo Fanuc Type: 5n-2500m #: D-994922 Date:79-7 Small one
Z servo Fanuc Type: 10-2500m #: D-911425 Date:79-3 Large one
not sure what the feedback is?
I got this from a small shop that was using it a few times a week. (I seen It under power) But before I can hook it up I need to get a phase converter (Phase Perfect Digital Phase Converter PT355 - Phase Technologies, 20HP) This is what that shop was using for his cnc's
Thanks

It's quite simple to make your own rotary phase converter with a few off the shelf parts.

I did end up purchasing a purpose wound RPC motor from these guys. They are great to work with and don't hide anything. I have no connections with them other than I bought one.

I am not positive, but I seem to recall those old Fujitsu servo drives are +/- 5vdc signal.

I got the lathe under power and everything seems to work as it should with the fanuc 5t. Now I have to figure out how to do this linux upgrade
