This is directed toward the Administrators of the LinuxCNC application.

I would like to compile and run the apt360 software on the same machine running LinuxCNC.

Are there sufficient libraries present to compile the software?

Also, can I run Axis on a stand alone computer for practice/experimenting?

Does the LinuxCNC *.iso provide for dual booting? i.e. Does it install GRUB?

With kind regards,

David

I have no experience with APT360, but the Linuxcnc install iso does support dual booting (yes Grub is installed), and Linuxcnc can be installed without any hardware to control to do simulations and experiment with. There is a "pure simulator" installation option that does not use any real time kernel as well that can be used for experimentation. Linuxcnc can even be installed into virtual machines for experimentation.

What release of LinuxCNC are you referring to?

To the best of my knowledge all of them. (but some of the older Ubuntu ones were easier to configure for it.)
