Just getting back into learning linuxcnc.

Built a computer with version 2.4 or 2.5 a couple of years ago and then got side tracked.
Ready to try learning linuxcnc again. Is it easier to upgrade the old version to 2.7 or should I
just start with a fresh install of 2.7?

Does Linux have an equivilant command to fdisk in does to reformat the hard drive?

Regards,

Mark

You could probably upgrade just LinuxCNC, but those versions of linuxCNC were distributed with OS versions that are now well out of support (a bit like upgrading from Word 5 to Office 2016, but staying on Windows XP)

Thanks Andy.

What is the best way to reformat the harddrive before doing fresh install?

The Live-CD / USB installer will do that if you want. Just back up your old configs if they might be useful.

Thanks again Andy.

Will try that tomorrow night. Time for sleep.
