I have GNU-Linux ARCH, have compiled LinuxCNC from the AUR repository on my blog as I have put to compile, compile it after the terminal opened and wrote "LinuxCNC" and appeared the next screen

out of terminal

[root@ronal ronal]# linuxcnc
LINUXCNC - 2.8.0~pre1
Machine configuration directory is '/usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/examples/sample-configs/sim/axis'
Machine configuration file is 'axis_9axis.ini'
can't find package Linuxcnc
while executing
"package require Linuxcnc "
(file "/usr/share/linuxcnc/hallib/check_config.tcl" line 83)
check_config validation failed
LinuxCNC terminated with an error. You can find more information in the log:
/root/linuxcnc_debug.txt
and
/root/linuxcnc_print.txt
as well as in the output of the shell command 'dmesg' and in the terminal

As your venturing into the land of unknown can you post the output from dmesg?

If this is a RIP (Run In Place) did you do after make sudo make setuid then cd .. then . ./scripts/rip-environment?

A RIP is when you download the source and build the software in place (not installed). Looks like your running the computer as root... The dmesg said you ran out of memory for some reason.

What is in
/root/linuxcnc_debug.txt
and
/root/linuxcnc_print.txt

Also before running LinuxCNC clear dmesg with dmesg -c or for normal users sudo dmesg -c

To my pea brain it looks like a kernel problem, is there some reason your not using a supported distro like Debian?
