Hey, guys,
I am new to the forum and the Linux CNC world. I have only been working with the Linux CNC system for a few weeks. Before, I used Mach3.
Now I have a big problem, today the RCD was triggered, in the middle of the workpiece.
After the restart of the computer, Linux CNC did not let open any more. The error message appears as in the appendix.
What can I do?
Thank you for your help
Philipp

Replied by PCW on topic Power failure with consequence
The cause of the troubles seems to be this error reported by LinuxCNC:
PARPORT: ERROR: linux parport 0 not found

and this reported by Linux:
lp: driver loaded but no devices found

Not sure why this would change but you might try checking your BIOS's
parallel port setup options or try using the parallel port base address in LinuxCNCs hal/ini file
instead of Linux PP 0 (that is use 0x378 instead of 0 in the parport command line)

The parallel port on the PC motherboard did not survive the power failure.
A new PCI parallel port card has solved the problem.

That's very unfortunate, you wouldn't normally expect that to happen.
Glad you got it fixed.
