Hi,

I've just installed a fresh version of LinuxCNC.
This is the version based on Wheezy.

When I try to install a virtual keyboard for use in gmoccapy, either "Matchbox-keyboard" and "Onboard" are not found.
Probably because these versions are removed for Wheezy.

Is there any way to get a virtual keyboard working?
Or is there a LinuxCNC for a more recent version of Debian?

Regards
Peter

You need to install matchbox keyboard or onboard!
Other virtual keyboards are not supported!

Ignore the previous post, as that answer will not solve your problem.

Yes I know, matchbox or onboard...
But where can I find these? :)
It looks like the packages no longer exist for Wheezy.
Wheezy is old... and replaced by Jessy and Sid
Wheezy is debian 7, essie is debian 8 and sid is debian 9.

I found the solution.

This is how I did it :

* Download matchbox-keyboard from debian.pkgs.org/7/debian-main-i386/match...6-9+b1_i386.deb.html
* First install the dependency : sudo app-get install libfakekey0
* Then install matchbox: sudo dopkg -i matchbox-keyboard_0.1+svn20080916-9+b1_i386.deb

Shouldn't that be "apt-get" instead of "app-get" ?

and also "dpkg" instead of "dlpkg" ?
