Connecting 7i76E with VFD

Hello,

It looks like the 7i76E board has a rs-422 connection and my huanyang VFD has a rs-485 connection. Is there a converter to make this work? I would like to try and avoid using a USB to rs-485 as my computer doesn't sit that close to the VFD.

-Thanks

I have yet to try this but this link has the links to docs and the bit file you need. I'm not sure if your VFD has a 4 wire interface...

There is rather more to using the Mesa card serial connection to control the VFD than just the physical wiring. You would also need a driver as the Mesa UART does not appear as a serial defive in /dev but only exists in the LinuxCNC HAL.
