There are buttons to be pressed near each output led and they should change color when pressed. That will also change the state of the output pins on the port. You can check that with a DVM.

Thanks for that Tommy got it up and running.
I've used StepConfig XYUV Foam to get the machine up and running.
I need XXYZ and the U joint locked to X is good.
How would I go about splitting V from Y and turn V into Z ?
Thanks Paul

Yes basically, gantrykins was rendered obsolete with the release of V 2.8. So having built a gantry machine, thats all I've ever used... (using V 2.9 now)

Personally, I think that is also obsolete. I just hit home all as I turn the machine on so the joints become axes before I attempt to jog. Gmocappy allows you to home individual axes and I sometimes rehome the Z axis but if X is out for me, Y will be too.

Just can't get past this one, I have common home and limit switches. All limit on pin 11 and all home on pin 12.
I have a toggle switch to toggle between the two,
when switched to home the limits are switched to closed and vice versa
when switched to limits the homes are switched to closed.
So on the old gantrykins I would switch to home for homing and once homed switch back to limit.
Problem now is that when switched to limit the limits work but when switched to home the home don't work.
I also have probe configured on pin 15, which I could do without.
I now have in Hal
net spindle-on => parport.0.pin-14-out
net charge-pump => parport.0.pin-17-out
net estop-ext <= parport.0.pin-10-in
net all-limit <= parport.0.pin-11-in-not
net all-home <= parport.0.pin-12-in
net probe-in <= parport.0.pin-15-in
I've tried removing the "-not" comment from pin 11
I've tried adding the "-not" comment to pin 15 and or 12 and or 10 and 11
In my old Gantrykins Hal I had
setp parport.0.pin-16-out-invert 1
net charge-pump => parport.0.pin-16-out
net dout-00 => parport.0.pin-17-out
net all-limit <= parport.0.pin-10-in
net all-home <= parport.0.pin-11-in
net estop-ext <= parport.0.pin-15-in-not
Any Ideas
Thanks Paul

I am confused about what the toggle switch does. Is that not something that can be handled automatically in HAL?

Thanks Andy,
Yea, I've sort of come to the same conclusion. The toggle switch was how I set it up in Gantrykins some 6 years ago.
I found this "Plasma Table HAL example, in git and a 9-part video series was created by swolebro" excellent post and am working through that now.
Cheers Paul
