7i96 with chinese bob was created by neil52
PC with PPort crashed so decided to try 7i96 mesa card.
Is it possible to connect bob from parallel port on 7i96?
I have pc set up with Linuxcnc 2.8,have connected to 7i96, created setup with pnc generator and with 7i96 config tool.
When trying to edit hal files to set pin # ,nothing as I expected in file where do I go from here?Should I eliminate bob or am I just missing the obvious?

If you have a recent version of LinuxCNC (that has pncconf support for the 7I96)
I probably would just ditch the BOB unless there is some hardware feature of the
BOB that you need.

Which BOB is it? There are some 7I96 firmware files for the ubiquitous "Mach 5 axis" BOB
but you would have to do most hal file editing by hand to get the I/O working

Eliminating BOB is probably the way to go,took a good look at it last night,I could have rewired in less time than I searched for answers. Also eliminating BOB gets rid of a possible failure point. Thanks for the input.
