Well, I have ordered my Odroid from hard Kernell. I ended up going with the 8GB of ram. They didn't have a power supply in stock, so will have to find one locally.

This is the wiring shematic I have for my PLC. It looks to me like all inputs are from GND, so would I be correct in assuming I need the 7i76eD?

Thanks

Can't answer that one.
But with regards to the ISO I've been having a few issues with the latest one for the Odroid, I'm in the process of fixing that now.

Long story, but my fault for not testing thoroughly.

A Meanwell HDR-60-15 power supply would be perfect!

The S/S mean the PLC support both source and sink, your schematic is sink.
X0 to X3 is switch spdt to control manual mode up abd down, X4 is push button and X6 to X25 is connected to HMI?
Following this diagram you dont have sensors connected (X6 to X25?) so its up to you to switch to source.
Sink usually is used here in asia, PNP sensor sometime they dont have to send in the same they when i order. So check whats better for you (supplier, price, time)
Some people argue PNP is more easy for troubleshot but well grounded system doesn’t matter S/S.
The PLC schematic dont have protection anywhere.
How they handle fault conditions, cycle the power?

your schematic is sink

So I need the 7i76eD?

I have attached the full schematic for the CNC - If you can understand it all, then you are going a lot better than me

I was hoping to simply Swap the CNC HG613T out for the Odroid + Mesa. That way, I can easily switch between the 2 controllers until I have LinuxCNC working correctly

Yes, 7I76D if you dont wanna rewire, relabel and make new diagram. Following the diagram looks like you dont need replace wire because lower gauge to save cost.

But i think you need to see whats better for you.
Can you get one sensor replacement in the next day after you order it?
Doesn't matter for you to wait for replacement and have your table stopped?

you can use resistor but its workaround IMO and dont look professional if you plan to sell it.

People here at Plasma usually use HiGH logic.
NPN Type :
Metal close to → proximity switch → Output Low (Current Sink)
Metal away from → proximity switch → Output High impedance(I guess).

Add a pull up Resistor on Output:
Metal close to → proximity switch → Output Low (Current Sink)
Metal away from → proximity switch → Output High (Resistor pull up)

PNP Type :
Metal close to → proximity switch → Output High (Current output)
Metal away from → proximity switch → Output High impedance(I guess).

Adding a pull down Resistor on Output:
Metal close to → proximity switch → Output High (Current output)
Metal away from → proximity switch → Output Low (resistor pull down
If you use NNP and follow what rodw, tommy (i thinkk) made youll need to change all their logic, whats more easy for you rewire or change the logic?

Another point, i dont have plasma, So wait who have empirical knowledge to say something, but ROD just told is a matter to know if is sink or source so i guess both is okay.

The only thing you need to sort out if your machine has active high or active low inputs and select between a 7i76e or 7i76eD

Yes, by default the 7i76e uses PNP but could use NPN with pullups. (I bought the wrong sensors initially). Then after that, Mesa released the 7i76eD which is active low inputs I understand and its designed to simplify retrofits if the circuits were active low. I don't really know enough about electronics to make a call on what is required.

7i76e is preferred for new builds.. Nice and easy.
