Hello,I have problem with wrong preview on my lathe.I made my config by Pncconf Then I noticed, that in simulator is preview good. I gradually tried to mix files from the simulation and from Pncconf and other simulator and ... I dont konw. I found that the sim.var file does this.I can run a simulation with a good sim.var file where the preview is correct.I can run a simulation with a bad sim.var file where the preview is incorrect.Unfortunately, I don't know what the sim.var file is for and how to use this finding to fix preview for real machine.

I looked for a mistake and found it. It does G54. If G54 is an integer, then the preview is fine. If G54 is a real number, then the preview is bad. This problem is not in Axis. I've been looking for this mistake all day.

Hallo,

this is a known problem og the glade preview widget called gremlin.
I decided not to include any affort in this tool, because the change to GTK3 and python 3 will lead to a complete new preview, hopefully also with 3D features.

Hopefully not to much 3D feature so that it don't stress the cpu too much.
Even though some solid preview would be nice... :silly:

But then I wonder why the displayed maximum values of the part are shown wrong with gremlin in gmoccapy and shown right in axis...

gremlin, axis and qtvcp use much of the same underlying library code, but they are different programs.

There seems to be few openGL programmers in linuxcnc so we all just use the code that works and build on that.

But then I wonder why the display differs from gmoccapy to axis.
Have a look at the value for maximum Z.
But on another computer it is displayed correctly even in gmoccapy. Maybe something regarding the graphics card driver?

It gmoccapy:
