For some time now, I retrofitted my fanuc omate t milling machine from 1989, the machine is in good mechanical condition, but the cnc control was broken, so I decided to retrofit it with linuxcnc that I have been using for several years, I was working with the parallel port, there I went to mesa 5i25 and 7i76.
it remains for me now to settle the oriente problem and the tool change.
for info, i kept the fanus 3s 5.5kw spindle motor and i use a hitachi wj200 vfd to drive it.
the axis motors are closed loop paps, I would have liked to work with servos, but the time and the work to be done to make it work is already enormous, so I took this shortcut, afraid to be later will see.
for the moment, I must finish because I have to work for the machine which waits.
