Tool Table Metric Cutters

Am I correct in thinking that metric cutters in the tool table in the axis frontend to Linuxcnc should be inputted in imperial dimensions? So my 6mm cutter size is 0.236".

Does this also affect tool offsets in g10 and associated codes?

My ini file is set to metric when I ran stepconf, as the ball screws are 5mm pitch, the knee is set to 5.08 as it is 5tpi!

As a newcomer to linuxcnc I have found it well thought out and easy to get started, I had a bit more fun getting the probe screen and NativeCam up but the information on the forum sorted it out.

No, metric should have everything metric.
No clue about offsets, i don't use them much.

The tool table should be in the machine-native units.

Check your INI file [TRAJ]LINEAR_UNITS to be sure.

Thank you
the INI file [TRAJ]LINEAR_UNITS is shown as mm,

so any cutters and other items for offsets etc should be in metric and my old 1/4" cutters as 6.35mm. some probably need the size checking as I have reground the flutes!

Thanks for the information
