Manual homing does not move on any axis was created by ytiuqibu
Have just completed a rebuild and rewire of our shop built CNC router.
Rebuild required, amongst other things, a replacement of breakout board which is now a cheap 5-axis parallel port board.
Switches on either end of each axis are wired, in series, to a separate input.
Using Step Config all axes pass test movement and jogging appears fine on all axes.
Switches on all axes stop motion as expected and at present no spurious joint errors occur during jogging.
If I run an aircut using a "no limits" config file motion seems to be fine.
The problem comes when I attempt to manually home any axis using a config file with "min limit + home" configuration (actually most other configs I have tried do the same) - pressing the homeĀ key appears to engage the axis motor (I can hear iy humming) but there is no motion.
I attach the ini and hal files for the current config but I am unable to determine if there is a software issue causing this.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What version of LinuxCNC are you using? That ini file is quite different than what the 2.9 version stepconf wizard generates. I see [AXIS_0] which should be [JOINT_0] and no [AXIS_X] section as a start.

Thanks for the reply JT
I have since reconfigured the axis wiring and discovered that there was a very slight and extremely slow movement which has been overcome by resetting the homing speed . We are still using version 2.7 as we had this working adequately two years ago and I would prefer to ensure we have a working machine before I upgrade the OS and install 2.9.
The homing on our z axis is working extremely well with a pair of relatively new mechanical micro-switches but x and y are proving stubborn with our original switches that are about 20 years old so I will by some new ones and see if their response is better.
We only get to work on this machine a few hours per week so changes are rather slow.
Thanks once again.

I still use Ubuntu 10.04 and 2.7 on my CHNC and see no point in upgrading if it just works.
