Questions about "Auto Zero" in QT_Dragon_HD probe tab. was created by JohnnyCNC
How can I make the "Auto Zero" button default to ON? ON a few occasions where I have not used my machine for a couple of months, I forget to set Auto Zero to ON, and then go down a rabbit hole trying to figure out why my machine is not cutting at the correct Z height.
What is the use-case when you would want Auto Zero to be OFF?
Thanks
John

If the material you are drilling is not a flat sheet of constant thickness, the auto zero might be wrong.
A very soft material could lead to zeroing errors.
I have no experience with auto-zero, this is all purely hypothetical speculation.

I'm using 2.9.4.
When the Z is off, It is usually off by a half inch or so. It all depends on what I was doing the last time I remembered to turn auto zero on.
