5i23 Amp enable doesn't move at all

Hi all,

I use stepper Amps that need an enable signal to activate them.
In pncconf I configured 4 step generators on second connector to drive
the Amp's Step and Dir, as well as the Apmlifier Enable Signal and an
general e-stop.

The Point is, Amp Enable signals always stays high, doesn't matter what
e-stop or machine on is doing.

Somebody can lead me to what I'm doing wrong.

A little more information would be helpful:

Which FPGA configuration?

Which 5I23 I/O connector?

Which daughtercard? (and If daughtercard is used which I/O connection on the daughtercard is used for AMP Enable)

What GPIO bit is AMP enable?

Have you tried looking at this GPIO bit with HALMeter?

Sorry for the few information. I'm still new to all of that.

I have just a 5i23 installed in my PC.
No daughtercard.
I use a self made PCB to connect the 25 pin header to the connectors that fit my
stepper drivers.

I used pncconf in point and click style to configure the I/O's.
Selected the 5i23 and SVST4_8.
So stepgens show up on the second connector of the 5i23.
I used all of the four stepgens on that connector and the very next pin to Step / Dir of each stepgen as Output - "Amplifier Enable", further I configured an estop-in.

The e-stop worked well and showed expected results in Axis
but Enable pins on the connector didn't toggle on any action.

meanwhile I have installed EMC2 V2.5 and facing other problems.

So, let's go to the other thread.

So can you put a HALmeter on the GPIO pin and see if its its toggling inside EMC?

Thank's cmorley,

As I wrote in the last post, that actually isn't the problem anymore.

Now I have updated to EMC 2.5.0-pre2-313-gdc2bde3

and there comes up the Errors I described in the

www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/compo...id=39&id=15551#15569
thread.

Maybe an admin can close this thread here, to don't get confused.
