check the permissions of the files.
and if it's executable.

In your linuxcnc/configs/ directory.

It seems like File Permission was the culprit. BIG Thanks. As per the screenshot, now I’m able to select the 5i25.
Question: shouldn’t the 7i77 appear on the right side along with the other “Sanity Check” daughter cards?

No the 5i25 does not have a sanity check.
the sanity check is actually just a reminder to set the proper pwm rate.
the 5i25/7i77 does not require a manual setting.
