Hello everyone,I am a novice on LinuxCNC and I'm experiencing some issues. I have chosen to use a Mesa configuration with the 5i25 and 7i76 cards. I am using pncconf to set them up, but when I reach the step where I have to configure my axes, I am unable to make my motors work. This makes me wonder if the communication between my two Mesa cards is functioning correctly.I'm not sure at which point I made a mistake. I have flashed the 5i25 card with the 7i76x2.bit file.My motors and drivers are from www.omc-stepperonline.com/fr/4-axe-3-0nm...lote-4-dm556t-23hs45 .I have one X-axis, two Y-axes (tandem), and one Z-axis.Here are some photos to provide context and clarify my issue :  photos.app.goo.gl/em3JhLYEFLUrQXVU9

One of the most common issues when you don't get motion is too short step pulses.
I would start with 5 usec (5000 ns) for most step drives

Thank you for your response...
To make sure I have understood correctly, should I set all 4 stepper info parameters to 5000?
Also, is it normal that my HAL oscilloscope is not displaying any data?
I have included photos of the oscilloscope and my motor parameters in the second link of my initial message.

OK looks like you already have the steplength set to 5000 and the
other timings look reasonable.

Have you connected the drives enable inputs?

(these normally work as DISABLE inputs so disable the drives if connected)

Also some drives with high current requirements will not work with
differential connections for STEP and DIR so should be wired single ended:

Drive DIR+ and STEP+ >> +5V
Drive DIR- >> 7I76 DIR-
Drive STEP- >> 7I76 STEP-

Okay, thank you very much.
I will look into and try this connecting mode (I had connected all four wires to the board).
Can I connect it to the +5V of TB2 on the board?
At this stage, is it not concerning that there is no data on the HAL oscilloscope?

Don't worry about not seeing data on the HAL oscilloscope.
The Halscope needs to be setup for capture. Just like a real scope if there are no signals connected to the channels and/or the capture is stopped you wont see anything.

Looks like maybe this would help:

Can I connect it to the +5V of TB2 on the board?

Yes, that is what the 5VP pins are TB2 and TB3 are for.

Hello,
thank you very much for all your responses.
I have modified the wiring of my drivers as you advised. That has already solved one problem, but there seems to be another one as the motors are not rotating.
I don't even have the impression that my 5I25 and 7I76 are communicating with each other. Is there a way to clarify this?
Do you have any other ideas about errors I might have made?

There are still photos showing the current state in a link from the first message of this thread. I am available to provide more details and photos.

I notice in your picture of the 7I76, W2 is in the left-hand position
This is wrong if you are supplying 5V to the 7I76 power via TB3
(7I76 manual page 2)

A simple hardware sanity check is to run LinuxCNC and jog in both directions
and check that the associated DIR signals on TB2 change

Hello, there's no 5V alimentation on TB3 the only one i have is 12V on TB1 for I/O

Any suggestion ? Is there an error and should i change the position of W2 ? If not do you (all) have any other advice !

Thanks for your answer !
