7i43 stepgen 4 axes was created by billykid
because every time my pc with emc2 generates errors, I wanted to quickly replace the two parallel ports with a 7i43. waiting to finish the tests with 5i23 closed loop.
I just have to adapt the output of 7i43h. with my buffer (this is not a problem for me)
the card is already active with 7i43big.ini step and outputs the signals are seen with an oscilloscope
I have 4 axes. more pwm spindle all in step / dir mode
2 encoder for feedrate and spindle override + mpg with an encoder.
since I am not very practical to do these configurations can post my ini file and hal. for help on the drivers to load, stepgen, PWM, encoder.
For example, the spindle is pwm output step / dir. but tells me pncconf
I can not put together stepgen and pwm
I want a good starting point for doing this is not someone do it for me.
tell me where I can post here. ini file and hal or on pastebin.
thanks in advance
Mauro

First of all what version of EMC are you using.
You can post your HAL and INI files here. Archive them and attach them to your message.
I'm not sure what your trying to do -
you want an open loop, step and direction controlled XYZA machine, with step and direction controlled spindle and spindle feedback ?
you want to use an encoder for feed override, an encoder for spindle override and an encoder for MPG jogging?
Not sure what you mean you can;t put together stepgen and pwm. Are you trying to build a closed loop stepper system?

Hi!
Is anybody here tried to make real mill or lathe in this card?
I'm very interesting in practice applying.

i want an open loop, step and direction controlled XYZA machine, with step and direction controlled spindle
i want to use an encoder for feed override, an encoder for spindle override and an encoder for MPG jogging
i'm using emc 2.4.6 with open loop dc motor 220 pulse mm
these are the files that are working with 2 parallel ports. with or without A

I'm not sure exactly what you need but maybe looking at some other HAL files will help by giving you an example of a combined Step/Dir + PWM spindle configuration. For example this Smithy config:
git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=emc2.git;a=blo...figs/smithy/6130.hal
combines step generators and a PWM controlled spindle.
git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=emc2.git;a=blo...figs/smithy/6130.hal
combines step generators and a PWM controlled spindle.

thanks Pcw,
I think being a spindle servo open loop step / dir mode can be controlled with stepgen.

there are some bugs in pncconf for the 7i43. the connector numbering is backwards I think.
Pncconf only allows setting up encoder MPG jogging not overrides.
It will allow stepgen spindles but is not well tested.
The next version of pncconf will help with feed overrides and spindle overrides.
can you try pncconf and let me know any problems?

Of course!
for now I renamed the driver lib/firmware/hm2.
and managed to generate a configuration that starts
sin to override ... but can be added manually later?

yes overrides can be added later pretty easily. It uses HALUI for overrides

I had a working configuration for all motor
a problem. the different name of the driver in / lib / firmware.
plus a "addf servo thread" in the hal file to delete to start EMC2.
I decided to load 3 mpg encoder. so they can be used to override.
I do not know if you can do but are just testing for now.
