Tool touch macro setup help was created by Yorky
Looking for some help in setting up a macro for tool touch offs within linux cnc. Relatively new to using linux cnc so please bear with me.
Machine is a 3 axis with a touch off mounted to the frame for tool lengths. Most of the operations I plan to run will utilize 1-3 tools, the way I am imagining doing so is something as follows
Load in T1, manually jog so that the tip of my bit is touching the top of my work piece and set G54 Z
Run operation, pauses and raises when asked for a tool change
Load in T2, send to touch off on tool touch probe that's solid mounted, and have offset automatically adjust G54 Z0 so that it does not need to be re-touched off
Run operation, pauses and raises when asked for a tool change
Load in T3, send to touch off on tool touch probe that's solid mounted, and have offset automatically adjust G54 Z0 so that it does not need to be re-touched off
Hopefully this makes sense, please let me know if I need to clean up my terminology, any help would be appreciated, even if its letting me know that there's a better way of doing this than my current process in my head. Thanks!
