Hi

You need the emc2-dev package of emc2 to get comp, but if you have linuxcnc (2.5 or later) all the dev files including comp are now part of it.

You can probably just apt-get install build-essentials to get comp running.
Depends what your component links to, as to whether you need more than just the kernel headers from a basic install and the includes from /usr/realtime-xxxx/include.

I gathered as much so I just installed the dev package. I suppose it does not matter to much if the dev is on the machine as well.
