I found some settings files that some one else had configured and when I try to run them this is the errors I get I have also attached a zip file of the settings files that I was using.
I might have left something out, if I did, please ask away.

this is a very old emc config , you would be better using stepconf and regenerate a new configuration

have you the parrell port pinout connection information ?

I do have the connection information. I'm not sure what settings to use on the first drive page in stepconf. are there any generic setting to start with?

Thanks!

The driver board is their custom board and the steppers are Powermax from kollmorgen.

I believe their board uses a CW/CCW pulse for control Vs the Pulse/DIR setup.

After creating your config in Stepconf you will have to change the step type and not open the config up in Stepconf again.

Or you could just remove the inifile line NML_FILE = emc.nml and your config should run.

Edit: I just tested your configuration after removing the offending line and it works for me... That computer has been buried all week and just now got access to it.

Out of curiosity, what does the NML file do?
If I can run the linuxcnc without it I assume its not really needed?

I'm not sure what the nml file does but I assume it sets some options for the nml messaging.

It is needed but after 2.3 the installed version is used because it changed. So if you try to run a config from 2.3 in 2.4 or 2.5 you will get an error unless you modify the nml file to the 2.4/2.5 requirements.
