5I56 + 7i76 Lathe

The encoder I'm using is a OMRON E6B2-cwz3e runnng into a 5i25 + 7i76 combo using the encoder inputs enca+ encb+ and IDX+spindle. I just checked the hm2_5i25.0.gpio.014.in pin and I can see the index pulse go true false. I've also check the IDX+ with a scope and it looks clean running into the card. I'm pretty fresh to all of this so I'm still learning my way around halcmd and the configuration files. I just tried to follow the link above and nothing seems to happen with the motion.spindle-index-enable any way I've tried so far but I could just be doing something basic wrong. I tried to unlink it and ended commenting it out in my hal file to see if that would unlink it which seems to have worked. But if I then setp motion.spindle-index-enable 1 by hand nothing happens as I rotate the spindle by hand in 360 degrees of motion.

You need to set and watch the encoder counter index-enable
pin to check index, not motions index enable pin

On a 5I25/7I76 this pin is hm2_5i25.0.encoder.00.index-enable
