Ferror and Min_Ferror was created by LAIR82
Should these values be available to change in the calibration utility?

The Integrator manual says that they should, but it doesn't come up that way.

Thanks

I do know if you don't have a variable in your ini the tune feature will not show it.

I don't know if ferror is one that is included or not.

Which section of the Integrator manual mentions that?

In the INI section, under the description of Ferror.

I just noticed it today while I was tuning our third turning center. It would definitley make tuning a lot easier, I do have both of those variables in my INI sections and it dosen't come up.

I agree the Integrators manual does hint that you can set something for ferror but it not very plain. I just checked etch servo and nothing shows up in the calibration about any ferror setting.

IMHO, I think that all of the variables under each AXIS heading in the INI should be available in the Calibration Utility, that way you can tweak/tune without the need to shut down and restart to adjust certain things such as backlash, ferror and so on.

The problem is that f-error is not a HAL pin (unlike the PID parameters for example) so the value can't be changed on-the-fly.

The motion controller reads the values from the INI file directly, and only at start-up.

In fact it is worth remembering that the entire INI file is only read once, at start-up. What the calibration utility does is change HAL values, then write the "good" values back to the INI for next time.

I agree and now is the time to make a patch for master to do that.

there is a patch for master to make hal pins for several ini file items:

www.panix.com/~dgarrett/stuff/inihal.patch

the patch needs testers before it is added to master.

I added it, and the screen pops up with the added variables that can be adjusted.

Is it just a demo right now? How do change which axis you are adjusting?

Would this be integrated into the current Calibration Window?

I changed some numbers around, but did not see it reflected on my INI file.

Here is a pic for those that are interested.
