The issue is that the KBIC doesn't supply sufficient current to run the 7I76/7I76Es digital potentiometer. The solution is to use an _isolated_ 10 or 12VDC power supply to provide the reference voltage

Ah I see that now. I threw a 12vcd 1a power supply on there and it works like a charm now.
