Ahh yes, its only half done, I'll poke at it when I get a bit of free time.
You should be able to use a plain(not shared with qcounter)
stepgen index for now

I have updated the source to include the shared stepgen/encoder index
(it was already done but only in my repository at home)
Its in the distribution hostmot2.zip file now
