EMC not working after ATI driver change

I finally got EMC installed, configured, and running. The last thing was the graphics drivers. With the standard drivers the text in the gcode area of Axis was dark grey text on a grey background. Almost unreadable.

I installed new drivers as outlined here
========================================================================
Ubuntu X Team's PPA

This is an excellent PPA, frequently updated, and run by Ubuntu veterans.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
$ sudo apt-get update

At this point, you should install available updates and then you can install the driver:

$ sudo apt-get install fglrx
======================================================================
Now when I try to run EMC I get this:

I am way beyond my scope, other than trying to reinstall EMC.

dont update with patches not meant for linuxcnc , or from other repositorys . emc2 needs realtime drivers , some drivers are not compatable
which may require a change of graphic cards .

normal upgrades from ubunto sites can conflict the build requirements

1. Can anyone point me to a list of graphics cards that Lucid does support and works with EMC?

2. Is there an easy way to "Undo" the latest changes that I made?

Thanks

Rick
