running emc2 was created by mel
after i select "sim axis", emc2 appears to hang the machine with a black dot for a cursor. Have Ubuntu 10.04 installed and then installed emc2 with emc2-install.sh.
Same thing happens when I install both with the bootable CD.
The screen appears to be OK. I get "AIXS 2.4.6 on EMC-HAL-SIM-AXIS (no file)" window. There is also a little window in the lower right corner that says "AXIS Manual Toolchanger".
EMC2 might be looking for something?? Am just getting started and am new to Ubuntu and EMC2. Not new to computers in general.

Can you run non-graphical UI's like Mini or TkEMC?
