Error in startup script: can't read "varval":

I have just tested it on my real PC - and it is working fine!

I am wondering, why it is not running on my virtual machine - but I don't want to waste more time for it...

One cause of this I found is a empty .linuxcncrc file (so no preferred config)
deleting (the empty) .linuxcncrc cures the problem

After I deleted the .linuxcncrc file linuncnc will be able to start!
