Hello...
I have installed EMC/Ubuntu from live cd.
After that I have Download and rebuild EMC folowing
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?Ins...ge_already_installed
as I made change in stepgen.c to suit my needs.
So EMC is live and kicking. But the original EMC (acessible trought menu) is still there and is not ussable for me as I use only rebuild one.
So the question is how to replace unusable one (in menu) with new (rebuild working one).
I try "sudo make install" but the answer is taht I can't do that as is build for run in place.
I want to install that and to keep source free to make other changes if I need.
Slavko.

Just change your menu to point to the RIP one. I do the same for desktop icons.

not exactly what I want. I want working one to be safe and other (run in place) to play with it.
