I've question. I think it better to post new topic.
Just want to know what Kernel I've install. Coz I've 1 x 4Gb ram to be install. How to check that I've done correctly rtai kernel? Coz if it chose pae kernel it won't work right?
Is it check by uname -a , uname -r ?
I've test by clean install latest imageCD from Linuxcnc download page into Mac Parallels app. It is virtual pc app and can give them resource
1. Try give it resource 4gb memory
2. Try give it resource 2gb memory
I've some screen capture here.
It does mean both already install in rtai kernel?
Also it does mean Live CD already fix it by always install rtai kernel even they found >2gb memory inside?
Thank you.
ps. I've just download Live CD and use it to install normally not change anything.

You may find it best to remove memory down to 2GB when installing, because the Ubuntu installer will try to install the pae kernel if it detects 4GB of memory
(unless this has been fixed in later Live CDs)

Yes both show the 2.6.32-122-rtai kernel, so the rtai kernel was installed.
The previous problem was with the ubiquity installer, that may well have been fixed.
It only affects the install, it will not suddenly change kernels if you add more RAM, I just suggested that you do the install with just 2GB installed to be safe, then put the other stick back in after
