Kozumi K-1500PCI wireless N adapter not working was created by patalvarez
Hi, I´m new to Linux I´ve just installed CNCLINUX Ubuntu 10.04lts and tried to made Kozumi K-1500PCI wireless N PCI adapter chipset ralink 3062 to work.
I made this steps:
2> In Makefile
set the "MODE = STA" in Makefile and chose the TARGET to Linux by set "TARGET = LINUX"
define the linux kernel source include file path LINUX_SRC
modify to meet your need.
3> In os/linux/config.mk
Please set 'HAS_WPA_SUPPLICANT=y' and 'HAS_NATIVE_WPA_SUPPLICANT_SUPPORT=y'.
4> $make
$make install
5> $cp RT2860STA.dat /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat
modprobe rt2860sta
In networks tools I get this: ( mac adress is present)
Wht I´m doing wrong?
Regards
Patricio

Hi
I see you have posted this on the Ubuntu forums as well
The underlying chip is the rt2860, used in a lot of different makes of wifi dongle and often very difficult to get working properly with Linux
This details procedure in more depth
ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1592731
You will find however that it is liable not to work at all, if near any running electric motors etc, for which reason, personally I would advise using a wired connection, either direct or via homeplugs
regards
PS. I would install wicd first before going back through everything, the default network manager is rubbish, wicd sometimes can sort out a connection itself, it certainly is easier to establish and save a connection with it once working

Dear ArcEye
I did what you suggested. I installed wicd and there was a change, I was able to see available wireless networks but I was not able to connect (an error was shown : WRONG PASSWORD)
I did not give up and installed RutilT and I could connect but, connection is unstable it is interrupted very frequently.
Thanks for your help!!
Regards
Patricio
