So I decided to do a fresh install on the computers for my Mill and Lathe. The computers areDell Optiplex 9020 micros. I am installing Linuxcnc V2.9.4 ISO. After installing and then updatingI get an error message ofE: Subprocess /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)it also says there is an issue with initramfs-tools.all that said I am attaching a pic of the error message to help. I am sure I am missing something stupidI usually do. LOL

This is still dragging on..... bloody hell.
When did you download the ISO?
2025-01-27 is the last upload date.
Whoever is building the image:
Clean the build environment before building a new image!!!
I am tired of repeating this.
But i am sure this was Debian's f@kup so i am cool again!
Debian should never ever have anything RPI related into AMD64 images, they had.
Edit:
And rubber ducky also means something else, so refrain from using it near PC/network security experts

I think I downloaded it a few months ago. I just downloaded another one a few minutes ago.
I will install that one to see if the problem is persisting. I will reply back in a bit when I know
one way or the other.

This is a really annoying bug from Debian. This fixes it.
This was in Debian 12.1 their initial Bookworm Release and fixed in Debian 12.2 a month or so later.
But they never updated the code in thie Debian Live installer. Debian must have used a fork of this to build their images and never bothered to correct the Debian Live system.
Its not something we can fix in our ISO. We did tell the builder to exclude it and it works but as soon as you do an apt upgrade, it comes back.
sudo apt update
sudo dpkg -P raspi-firmware
sudo apt dist-upgrade
