Disconnect the power form all but one drive and do some tests, then connect another one and test...
I am pretty sure it is an interference issue with bad wiring and/or bad grounding, so u7pload some pictures of the wiring here so we can have a look.

I've tested both drivers separately and same issues. I've attached a picture and also a schematic, since I only had yellow wire lol...My grounds seem good, and the pairs from the motor are correct (unless it matters which pair go to direction and which to pulse?)

I attached all files in google drive since they are too big; .hal, .ini, and the lspci info if that is helpful. Also in .ini the ferror values are at 10 but I have tried many different ranges of values.

I appreciate your time and help with this.

Flip the drive upside down and move the motor as far from it as you can, test again.

OK i flipped the driver and extended motor wires to 4 feet away. It is not better, in fact is seems a bit worst and stops even quicker

What power supply is powering the drive?
2 years back i had some really bad power supplies that caused a lot of noise, so i did the humane thing and showed them the trash bin. :)

I would test with the motor power off (and maybe parallel port disconnected)
to verify if this is a noise issue (noise ground path through parallel interface)
or a software issue.

tommylight; I'm using a super cheapo amazon power supply, I will test with a better one when I am able. Do you think such noise could cause the parport to become disabled in linux?

pcw; with the parallel port unplugged from the driver, the exact same issue happens! so i guess it is software or maybe my PCIe parallel port? this is the one I have  www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6MG5TM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Only the parport gets disabled or LinuxCNC also show an error? (Not sure if the parport gets disabled after a following error?)

Perhaps a parport driver is interfering, what does lsmod show?

Is in the BIOS the parallel port set at ECP/EPP/AUTO? Try EPP or ECP

Too aggressive timing for the steppers?

Power Management in BIOS?
