EMC live doesn't boot was created by dmauch
I d/led the latest version of emc live and successfully burn it on a CD.
I went into my bios and changed the boot sequence so that the CD boots first.
I placed the emc live cd in the tray and started the PC.. The PC message at the bottom is looking at the CD and I can see the light on the CD but the PC simply goes past the CD and instead loads windowds XP.
What is wrong?

Windows is trying to assimilate you and your computer.
I would guess that the burn was not successful. Do you have another computer you can try the CD on?
Or unplug the hard drive so Windows can not be found and the real problem shows up.

When you burn a live CD, make sure you burn it at the slowest speed you can select. This is recommended in the Ubuntu CD burning instructions here: help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
Also, I leave the computer alone while a CD is burning to make sure it is not interrupted.

I burnt in 3 different new CDR disks one at 48< one at 40X and the last one at 8X. I have tried the three disks on three different pc's and all three were set to boot from the CD . All three show the message that boot from the CD but then the cd player flashes a couple times and then windows starts instead.
While burning a I step away so the PC wasn't doing anything. In all three tries thwe CD burner program say it was successful. The file size of the d/l matches the file size on the CD.
Any other suggestions?

Sounds like your just copying the file to the CD and not burning the ISO to the CD.

Did you copy the file to the CD or burn the ISO? There is a difference...

BigJohnT is right, it sounds like you just burnt it with a regular file system with the iso as a file. The iso contains it's own file system, so once it's burnt you won't see an iso file on the CD, but a whole bunch of directories and files. The link I gave earlier gives detailed instructions on burning an iso.
