3D Metal Printing

So I have a Prusa mini 3D printer at work. We also a week ago got a 2000watt laser welder, cutter and de-scaler.
Well today while making up a few models for the regular 3D printer I realized that with having the high power laser
it would also be possible to build a powdered metal 3D printer. I know their is alot more involved in a metal 3D
printer then the usual plastic 3D printer. But to say this is a challenge worth pursuing is an understatement. It will
take some real imagination to say the least, but oh the possibilities.   Some of the things that will need to be
addressed-
A mostly airtight chamber to flood with an inert gas for the work area
A way to deposit more metal to fuse to the model after every layer
A way to remove the massive amount of powdered metal after a run that won't contaminate the surrounding air
And I'm sure their will be more. Stay tuned.

After some research I have found this is going to be quite the challenge. SLS type printing may be used in big company production
but it's for good reason. Cost and complexity. So far the big challenge I am trying to figure out is a way to dispense the metal powder
and a way to lower the model without contaminating the precision drive mechanism and that's before adding in having to purge the
chamber of any reactive gasses. You don't want to try to lase dry fine powdered aluminum in regular air unless you want to deal with
the following fireworks ( not kidding ).

For those keeping score at home this is still very much in the research and planning stage . If I can't work out how to do this in a reliable
and SAFE manner I wont build it.

There are several DIY ones on youtube, never checked if they have more info attached though.

Thank you smc.collins. I will admit I got very side tracked with other things and had pretty much put this on the side burner.
But since I have spent the last few months printing parts for an rc airplane and building a mostly printed almost completed
cnc hot wire foam cutter running on GRBL and a ramps 1.4 board (for now ). I will be looking into sls4all

How is the healing going?
What rc airplane?
Gathered plenty of RC stuff so made 2 of quadcopters, need to build some VTOL hybrid for long distance...
On topic:
Someone here has build a jet metal printer, the one with print head similar to ink jet printers, could not find it.
And with the avalanche of new IR/UV laser combos for hobby use, what are the chances of such laser working for this?

I am about as healed as I am going get..As far as R/C stuff goes, I am building my own version or the Slow Ultra Stick. I will have
to take some pics of it's current state. As it sits right now I don't have a main wing built for it yet but as soon as I have the cnc foam
cutter finished and setup, I will. I am basically building it as a trainer / FPV type craft. Unfortunately it's well past the 250 gram don't
have to register it limit. so I do have to go through extra grief to make it all legal to fly. ( Thanks FAA  ) That said I did get in a
flying club so I don't have to worry about remote I.D.

As far as lasers are concerned it would probably have more to do with wattage output and wave length. For plastic powder 50 watts
should be sufficient. For metal though under 500 watts is probably too weak to effectively work. At that point a fiber laser is the best
bet.
That said a jet type of printer sounds interesting
