Jog Z crashes rtapi_app in lathe mode

Well that's a little different then what I see.. as long as I don't jog the z axis while in unhomed mode everything works fine.

'normal' gmoccapy has its joints and axes number designation that match, so is unaffected by this trouble.

Double-checked. The problem appears only before homing.
I think you have this under control, cmorley.

But then I have a workaround and can continue.

Thanks for the bug report.
I know what the problem is - just not the best solution :)

I can not reproduce that error!

take the attached config and check again. That is the lathe sim config from gmoccapy from 08f427f5f5ef937421516427f4a2189896061bc4, so may be with after that the config has changed?

IMHO the triviakins line is the important one.

Your posted INI is no different then the one used in 2.8.

Start the config, don't home, jog Z axis - nothing happens and linuxcnc becomes unresponsive.
In the terminal:
'USRMOT: ERROR: command timeout'

Dewey has pushed a fix for the unresponsiveness after trying to jog an unavailable joint.

Norbert if you could change the jogging code to use the proper joint number with lathes while in joint mode then we have this licked.

OK after updating my branch to latest 2.8 I can reproduce the error, so inbetween my config and actal master, something has happend.

I do not see any problem in solving that, as I will push gmoccapy_3.0 to 2.8 branch, the new release do check for joint axis relations, so the problem will be gone.

Just need to make some documentation, but I am sure, I will be able to finish that part on the first August weekend at the linuxcnc meeting in germany, so just stay tuned.
