just a curious question.
Did you try to enter a negative pitch while in back tool lathe mode?
By the way, this is not a gmoccapy behavior, it seems to be a trajectory planer issue.

Hi Norbert
I did not try a negative pitch .
I thought that would just alter the z motion and I can do that by specifying a negative start and and cutting toward z positive ..
Will give it a try though and report back.
Will also try setting a negative thread depth and if that does not work maybe a negative regression. Must look at the code for internal threads canned cycle to see if any clues there.

As a last resort you could also setup two switchable kinematics.

Diameter stuff shouldn't care, as smaller-X = smaller-dia regardless of front or back tool. Will also try setting a negative thread depth and if that does not work maybe a negative regression. Must look at the code for internal threads canned cycle to see if any clues there.

There is a difference though
To reduce diameter with back tool x minus requires the saddle to move downwards where as this has to be reversed for front tool.

That's a config thing if there is only one toolpost. If there are both front and back toolposts, then, yes, it's complicated. There is a difference though
