Hi,

I just happened to read the newsletter from Deskproto where they announce beta test for Deskproto on Linux and Mac - YEAH!

Why do you call it "real" ???
The rest is not real or what ? Blender has a very good cam, so does freecad and inkscape and nativecam for Linuxcnc, sheetcam is very cheap and very good with a free version, all of them work on Linux natively.
Maybe you like Deskproto, and that is subjective, but it does not warrant calling it real.

Sure - everything I write is subjective, as I'm a subject ;)
Can't write objective.

Well, beside the fact, that I did real jobs with it already (gcode of about 30Mb compressed archive) , for me, Deskproto is a bit more than just python scripting.
But hey, I don't know the functionality of the cited apps, so may be I'm wrong.

Cheers Reinhard
