Ohmic sensing question was created by PCW

I assume that Ohmic sensing is independent of the plasma voltage sense for THC
but would like some confirmation.
The reason I ask is that I am designing new hardware for plasma control that
incorporates both THC and Ohmic sensing and would like to share the A-D
hardware for both functions (with a select bit) and would like to make sure that
that does not create any limitations.

Yes, they are seperate and ohmic sensing is only enabled while probing.

				Peter,
Ohmic sensing and arc voltage sensing are mutually exclusive.
Plasmac has an output pin that is asserted when probing (ohmic sensing) is in progress.
So your new hardware with the select bit will make it very easy to integrate with plasmac if the state of your select bit was :
Some of us will be waiting excitedly to see Mesa's take on Plasma control and in particular if you include a RS485 state machine that maps functions to pins for Hypertherm machines...... Phill will have his head around that side of things.

pin out bit ohmic_enable "on only while probing";So your new hardware with the select bit will make it very easy to integrate with plasmac if the state of your select bit was :

				PCW,
When do you think your new card will be ready?

With regard to the RS-485 with Hypertherm, is it possible to use the 5i25 and 7i76 to communicate with the Hypertherm?

No, at this stage it is from a comms port on the PC.

Bummer, I figured as much, worth asking though.
Excited for where this is headed though.

Possibly midyear, it requires a new firmware module (SINC3 filter)
and may need a proto run to get right

Peter, TheFabricator03 is your man! I'm sure Phill has trained him well sifting through buggy software

Lol, I would not say buggy, the politically correct term is I was the alpha tester. The beta version sure works well though!
