Plasmac migration problems

I've spent a little bit of time trying to fix this, but I've lost my bearings a bit (sheer number of files in a plasmac install!). I've run the config wizard, but on trying to open axis (via terminal command, as per guide) I get the error "incorrect [TRAJ]LINEAR_UNITS in ini file", which I don't understand. It says LINEAR_UNITS = metric in mud_plasmac.ini, which appears valid.

My initial config was made using the 7i96 wizard with a few tweaks, and it seemed like the contents of io.hal didn't make their way into the plasmac config. Correctly or not, I've put the contents from io.hal into mud_plasmac_conenections, and I can home and jog the machine.

Try mm instead of metric.

I can't get it to do the test probe, the button just immediately lights and starts counting down - any ideas? I'm assuming it's something daft...the float switch seems fine, so I'm assuming it's config.

Set pierce height to 3mm and cut height to 1.5mm.

Your Setup Speed is wayyyy too low.

We're close...it probes - is it meant to be Setup Speed that controls the speed of the final movement up (to the height where it waits for a pierce command)? It doesn't seem to be, but I can't find something else to alter (it's too slow, and on an unfortunate motor resonance).

Setup speed is all Z axis motion except for:

Probing, but probing maximum speed is setup speed.

THC, which can use Z MAX_VELOCITY if needed.

Looks like it's the slow (second) probe speed I can't find - apologies if blind, but where can I find it?

The final probe up speed is always slow to maintain accuracy.
You must have a large hysteresis on your probe switch.
You could try reducing probe speed to reduce the overrun.
You could also try reducing the debounce in the <machine-name>_connections.hal file.
