I have a hypertherm powermax 900 with machine torch. I do not have the module for divided voltage. So far I've made a Arc-OK switch from a magnetic reed switch, and found the torch enable pins. My current issue though is the voltage my thcad seems to like to generate random numbers. The hm2_7i92.0.encoder.01.velocity pin is a constant random number when the device is powered up. Inside my hypertherm I mounted the device in the place the machine torch board would be. I also mounted a 5v ac power supply. I've gone so far as to take +5v/12v from my control box, power the thcad from +5 and put +12 into the sense terminals. The velocity is all over the place instead of being a nice stable number and this is with the noisy plasma cutter powered off. So Right now I'm at a loss as to what I need to try next.
Jumpers are 1/32 and unipolar. if set to 1/1 then I get a 0 for velocity

1) yes. completely disconnected from the hypertherm output, I get random numbers
2) yes. differential signalling. I believe this is used to prevent noise. I've also taken the an encoder input and grounded it. swapping wires fout+ fout- wires to see if that helps. with and enc signal grounded, I get 0 for a reading and no response at all to a torch on.
3) I've tried running a cable with +5/0 from my control panel into the hypertherm. Same results

I just disconnected the output wires. I can unplug p2 is necessary
encb I believe. I'm using a cnc4pc C10 board of recent manufacture. It's on P1. P2 is hooked to a G540 so I don't have the option to use the encoder on that port.
a copy of the plot in halscope.

OK so with a C10 you don't have a differential input. so that may be an issue
For single ended signals you should only connect FOUT+ or FOUT-
to the ENCA signal on the C10 and the unused FOUT pin must be left
unconnected. You should also tie the encoder B input on the C10 to ground.
If you have a digital signal noise issue it may be fixible by setting the
encoder input digital filtering so be slower than the default

ok. that's what I currently have connected. Fout to ENCA (C10 Pin10) and ENCB (C10 Pin 11) to GND. I've got plasmac.lowpass-frequency set to 15
With this setup, I get a 0 reading with absolutely no change in the 0 value for encoder.01.velocity. I'm really at a loss here. Last weekend is the first time I've plugged in the plasma power supply and had everything doing it's thing.

Gnd should go to gnd on the C11, not pin 11, leave pin 11 unconnected.ok. that's what I currently have connected. Fout to ENCA (C10 Pin10) and ENCB (C10 Pin 11) to GND.
