Moving a PlacmaC setup to QtplasmaC

As the tittle. I need to move a PlacmaC setup to QtplasmaC  I have MXlinux running with a setup using QTplasmaC (my own config)I have cloned the drive and want to use the cloned drive.

Can I just edit the hal and ini files from the PlasmaC  config to the QT config.

If you copy the machine config into the config directory then try to run linuxcnc with that config it "should" migrate it automatically if you agree at the prompt.

Can I do this on a PC that is not connected to the Mesa 7i96 ?

TBH I am not 100% sure but I think it will work as it should check for the update before it attempts to load the Mesa stuff.
It won't hurt to try seeing as you have a copy.
