Scale axis was created by paulsao
Greetings to all. Could someone help me calibrate my y-axis, I am performing detection and show that in a distance traveled of 10mm I have 1 tenth of an error of the real measurement, does anyone know a way to adjust it? Thank you.

Adjust it in the ini file, under SCALE for the axis. You have to restart between each edit of the INI file for it to take effect.

Formula is: (distance commanded / distance moved) * old step scale = new step scale

You can use the "calibration" from the machine menu or on the right side on one of the QtPlasmaC tabs, there should be scale also. No need to restart LinuxCNC.

Greetings. Thank you for your great help, I made the necessary calibrations and tried a commanded distance of 100mm and it's fine, the machine travels as indicated, with 500mm it's also fine, but when a command distance of 1000mm it obtained 1002mm, a difference of 2mm error, I don't know what is the problem if there are distances less than that is fine. Thank you.

What are you measuring with?

What sort of axis actuators do you have?

Thanks for your answer.I am using nema 24 stepper motors without encoder.I am measuring with a tape measure. I don't know if it is better to calibrate the scale with small distances such as 10mm or with large distances such as 1000mm.

Maximum distance the machine can move, that is used for scaling.
Or calculate the motor steps per turn, reduction, and the distance traveled for the pinion or belt pulley.

Thank you.I do have the calculation of the pulleys and pinions, but I have a question, when the axis is squared by moving the limit switches, does that calculated scale change or does it not affect that at all?

And I also don't know why in one part of the table I have a different value of distance to another part of the table.
